In the pages of this book we find a full argument for the principle of the Sabbath. It is not a legalistic book prescribing detailed behaviors to be done at certain times in order to keep the Sabbath. I came away with inspiration to benefit from the Sabbath because God commanded it and because I was designed to need it.
The Road Less Travelled by M. Scott Peck
Peck was a psychiatrist seeking spiritual connection when he wrote this book. It begins with the idea that “life is hard.” Throughout the book he champions the idea of responsibility as the path to a healthy life, and shirking responsibility as the path to problems. The reader stays engaged and gains deeper understanding from the many case examples Peck brings from his experience.
